BBQ Cauliflower Wings

I've been making these all week and I can't believe how much I've been enjoying them. This recipe is traditionally found as buffalo cauliflower wings but I thought I would mix it up, and also I couldn't take the heat of all the buffalo/hot sauce 😂.

Ever heard of hoisin sauce? Take a look in the international isle, it's basically Chinese barbecue sauce and it's amazing. I also used it for my PURPLE SUSHI TUTORIAL that you I also recommend that you check out ASAP.

This recipe is for half of a medium size cauliflower, feel free to double it for the entire cauliflower.  Try this out with all of the different colors of cauliflower that you can find in the grocery store!  For this one I used orange cauliflower and it was delicious.

Recipe

Preheat oven to 450F.

Chop cauliflower and add the following to a bowl...

  • 1/4 cup wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 cup water or nut milk, more or less

Mix until smooth, batter should be about medium thickness, add additional water or plant milk if needed. Dip each cauliflower piece into the batter and place on greased or lined baking pan. Bake for 18 mins.

Remove from oven and in a large bowl add...

  • 1/4 cup your favorite BBQ sauce
  • 3 Tbsp your favorite hot sauce - My favorite is cholula

Note: For an Asian twist use hoisin sauce for your BBQ sauce (Asian BBQ sauce)

Toss wings to coat.  Add additional sauce if you need more to coat all of the wings. Return them to the oven for 5 more mins. and they are ready!
